But as sure as thumping bass gets bottoms bouncing on the dancefloor, Praga Khan and his fellow Belgian provocateurs are one of electronic music's most outspokenly libertine groups. Equal parts techno and industrial with just a touch of house for flavor, this is dance music expressed in its most primal, earthy form. Their biggest hits are still played every week in clubs (dance...and gentleman's) around the world. It has been almost 8 years since LOA toured the US, and longer still since their infamous tour with Thrill Kill Kult. Seeing either one of these bands is a can't miss experience. Seeing both of them together on the same stage is a wicked little piece of alternative music history. MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT: Bonding over a love of (in their own words) "kitschy horror flicks and trashy exploitation films", Thrill Kill Kult started as a musical "B-movie" but soon rose to become one of the best-known acts on one of industrial music's most influential labels, Wax Trax. Their disco-demonic blend of electronic music, movie samples, distorted vox and suggestive horns was catchy enough to land the band on Interscope records and even resulted in their appearance in the legendary film The Crow, where they played themselves, performing their song After The Flesh. After 20 years, TKK has more than 13 albums to their credit and continues to make music provocative both for its innovation as well as its lyrical content. Don't miss this live performance of industrial icons! DJ Xris SMack! joins them for the following tour dates: * 7/30: Gramercy / Blender Theater, NYC (Afterparty @ Identity 511 e. 6th St, NYC) * 7/31: Dracula's Ball - Shampoo Nightclub, Philadelphia, PA ---> BUY TICKETS HERE <--- RSVP HERE (Projektfest also happening 7/30+31 in Philadephia) * 8/1: The Haunt - Ithaca, NY * 8/2: Bourbon Street - Baltimore, MD http://SextremeBall.com for more info, tour dates, venues, etc http://www.LordsOfAcid.com/tour/2010.php on tour July 13 through Aug 14th |
